NAAD Women Poultry Farm Scheme

NAAD WOMEN POULTRY FARMING TRAINING IN CONJUCTION WITH THE FOOD AND AGRICULTURAL ORGANIZATION OF THE UNITED NATION (FAO).

NAAD Women workshop on Poultry is a tool in poverty eradication and promotion of gender equality. This workshop was organized by NAAD Women and the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations.

Meanwhile Hon Mrs Rose Bolanle, Director General of the National Agency for Agricultural Empowerment, had this to say regarding the stakeholder partnership that characterizes the project:

“To address poverty, food and nutrition insecurity, it is important to work towards socio-economic and environmental outcomes at both community and national level. Our partnership with FAO on this project strengthens the availability of healthy, diverse food and imparts skills as a means for poverty reduction for the rural and urban communities in the Country.”

NAAD Women workshop on Poultry organized in Giwa Local Government Area Council of Kaduna State in conjunction with our partner the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO). One of many.

NAAD women recognizes the importance of poultry as a tool for poverty alleviation, food security, and income generation. Eggs in particular are a rich source of nutritious food for less fortunate individuals and households, which is one of the main reasons why NAAD-Women and FAO resolved to introduce the poultry scheme. Other communities in South East, South South and South West Region of the Country are also benefiting from the same support. The poultry scheme is in tandem with the FAO’s New Strategic Framework and contributes to the achievement of several Sustainable Development Goals objectives of FAO’s to SDG 1 (No poverty), SDG 2 (Zero hunger), and SDG 10 (Reduced inequalities) as well as to supporting achievement of the broader SDG agenda, which is crucial for attaining FAO’s overall vision.” said Mr. F. Kafeero, the FAO’s Representative in Nigeria.
